Imphal, December 10, 2025:

Dhanamanjuri University (DMU), one of Manipur’s prominent higher education institutions, has released an official advertisement inviting applications for the appointment of Guest Lecturers. The announcement, issued from the Registrar’s Office on December 9, 2025, opens opportunities for qualified candidates to join the Departments of Defence Studies and Geology.

According to Notification No. 3/26/2018-DMU/GF/24/948, the university seeks to appoint a total of four (4) Guest Lecturers—two for Defence Studies and two for Geology. The recruitment is being conducted on a fixed-term engagement basis through a walk-in interview process. Initially, the selected lecturers will be appointed for a period of six months, with the possibility of extension for another six months based on performance and departmental requirements. The university has also indicated that it may re-advertise similar posts if needed.

Eligibility and Essential Qualifications

The university has clearly outlined the minimum academic requirements for applicants. Candidates must possess qualifications prescribed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) for Assistant Professor positions in the respective subjects. This typically includes a Master’s degree in the subject with NET/PhD, although the detailed criteria follow UGC’s official norms.

By adhering to UGC standards, DMU aims to ensure that appointed guest faculty maintain the academic and professional quality expected at the university level. With Defence Studies and Geology being specialized fields, the call for highly qualified candidates underscores the university’s commitment to strengthening its faculty base.

Remuneration and Work Structure

The remuneration structure provides compensation on a per-lecture basis, with each lecture being paid at ₹600. However, the payment is capped at a maximum of ₹21,600 per month. This pay scale aligns with the standard honorarium offered to guest lecturers in many universities across India, recognizing their role while keeping the engagement temporary.

While the compensation may not match full-time positions, DMU’s offer creates opportunities for emerging academicians, research scholars, and domain experts looking to build teaching experience or contribute to academia during their research pursuits.

Interview Dates and Venue

DMU has scheduled separate interview dates for the two departments:

Geology: December 29, 2025

Defence & Strategic Studies: December 30, 2025

The interviews will be conducted at the Conference Hall, Administrative Block, Dhanamanjuri University, Imphal.

Candidates have been instructed to submit their bio-data along with supporting documents between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on or before December 20, 2025. This submission window ensures the university has adequate time to verify documents and prepare for the interview process.

The official notice also states that the timings for the interviews will be announced later on the university’s website, ensuring candidates remain updated through official channels.
